Bonjour Jérôme,

I'm sorry that my first post is a possible bug report.

Using myDVDedit, I was able to change a main menu aspect ratio from 4:3 to 16:9, but now the chapter buttons do not work from my external dvd player which is connected to a tv. I burned several dvds and they all had the same problem. Everything is fine on the Apple dvd player on my Mac, and also within iDVD. Playing the ts files from within myDVDedit is also OK.

My movie was created in widescreen and plays well. The menu is also widescreen but only plays in 4:3. When I went to the Apple forum, I found a note from a user who highly recommended your application. That is how I found your very informative site.

Amitiés de New York.

Hi,

I really dont see what can appends. There is no relationship between the aspect ratio and the chapter buttons.

Please do just one test. Try to burn a DVD before editing it with myDVDEdit to be sure myDVDEdit is really implicated.

Cher Jérôme,

Merci pour vôtre réponse.

I burned 2 DVDs before editing with myDVDEdit. In both cases, the menu was in 4:3 and the movie was in widescreen, 16:9. The chapter buttons were OK.

All DVDs burned after editing with myDVDEdit did not work properly. The chapter buttons did not work. Selection of menu buttons was not possible. Choosing "top menu" caused the movies to play from the beginning.

Bien sincèrement,

Herman

I cannot reproduce the problem.

Could you send me two zip files.
the first one, your project before the edition with myDVDEdit, which work on your dvd player, the second, your project after the edition.

DO NOT INCLUDE THE VOB FILES, just the IFO and the BUP files.

After analyse, the DVD is NOT the same DVD and have been regenerated by a Roxio's program (Toast, I presume).

Are you sure you use the "DVD-video from VIDEO_TS" option to create your DVD ?
Otherwise, try "DVDImager" and "Disk utility", I never had any problem with them.

Dear Jérôme,

Thank you very much for analyzing this for me.

Both DVDs were created by iDVD. It was only after I used myDVDEdit to change the menus to widescreen that the problem with the selection buttons began. The original DVD, in which the menus are in the standard format but the movie is widescreen, works perfectly.

When I have a few moments, I will try myDVDEdit with another of my DVDs with the same problem.

This seems to be an iDVD bug. The included wide screen menus should work with wide screen movies, and they do not.

Best from New York,

Herman
