Type:  Bug Report

Last change:  Thu 19 Mar 2009, 04:24
State:  Closed Based on version:  0.9.10 (v48)
Level:  Low Fixed version:  1.0 (v54)

At times the program crashes. It is not always possible to reproduce the problem exactly or to understand what triggers the crash, but maybe I have some info that might be useful.

1. At times when I open a VIDEO_TS folder MyDVDedit reports and corrects many errors (of type Last Sector or Link, if I remember correctly).
In those case my experience is this: if I try debug-running it WITHOUT saving, it easily tends to crash. If I immediately save it instead, when I debug-run it it does not crash (at least a lot less often).
Similar things at times happen when I make modifications: if I do not save those immediately crashes may happen, if I save them immediately crashes don't happen or at least are less frequent.

2. Some DVDs tend to crash MyDVDedit if I debug-run them (rightmost button). If instead I step-by-step through them (leftmost button) many no longer crash.

I know it's very vague info, but I hope it might trigger some intuition on what might cause this.

The best solution in that cases is, when you have a crash, ask for look at the crash report (dont send it to Apple, it only serves Nothing) copy/paste it in a text file and email it to
jerome at myDVD...

thanks

I'll do as you ask and send the report to you.

Is there some log I'd better clear now, or does the report properly include only the last occurrence?

The report include only the last crash information.

It could help me to find the reason, but it could not be enough.
